Experienced Business and Technology Law Attorney in Alpharetta, Georgia
Here Is What We Do
We are counsel to science, technology, software, medical, and other businesses from the initial concepts, corporate formation, shareholder agreements among partners, negotiation of leases, management of employees, drafting of contracts, business litigation, mediation and arbitration, and preparation of the business for sale or purchase, as well as mergers, and acquisitions.
We enjoy working with doctors, engineers, scientists, and businesspeople of all kinds, as can be seen from our representative transactions and litigations, below. We like sharing what works with our Clients, developing overall strategies of growth, strong revenue, employee management, customer retention, litigation avoidance, all with the goals of ease of administration, value, and possible positioning of the business for future acquisition.
We believe in value-pricing where possible in transactional work, so that you pay one price for your work, and we timely and efficiently complete the work.
Goal
Our goal is to produce the most positive outcome possible for our Clients, in all legal matters and business areas we will discuss on this web site:
- Startup businesses, corporate law, mergers & acquisitions
- Contracts and technology law
- Litigation
- Employment Law
Credentials
Before receiving her law degree from Columbia University Law School in the City of New York, principal attorney Margaret Fernandez graduated from Harvard University with a degree in economics and a background in science - two disciplines that serve her well in her focused practice of business and technology. Margaret was an IBM Thomas J. Watson scholar at Harvard, and was the Submissions Editor of the Columbia Business Law Review at Columbia, where she was named a Harlan F. Stone Scholar for academic excellence for two of her three years in law school. Margaret served as a federal judicial law clerk in 1992-1993 to the Hon. Richard C. Erwin, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina, and has strong familiarity with litigation, how judges think, and how courts work. Margaret is admitted to the bar of New York and the state and federal bar of Georgia.
Maximizing Value
What our Clients know is that properly drafted employment agreements, technology contracts, and business contracts, with strong, enforceable remedies, can avoid litigation altogether. Even more importantly, the strength of the business's contracts is directly correlated with maximizing the value of the business, and thus the price that can be obtained at sale, because the business's key revenue producing contracts are secure.
- Where possible, we will try to value-price your transactional work --- so that the price we quote is the price you pay.
- We will try to minimize your legal exposure in your business practices.
- We will timely respond to you as trusted counsel to give you the advice you need.
- We will act aggressively in your litigation to try to achieve the best possible strategic position early on.
